1. What happens on the Tuesday, March 11 Quiz Night?
Youth Tour applicants will meet in the Cobb EMC Community Room and take a quiz. The quiz takes an average of 25 minutes to complete.

2. What types of questions will be on the quiz?
Energy Conservation, Electric Facts, Cobb EMC Facts and Figures, Cooperative Information (True/False, Multiple Choice, Short Answer, Discussion Question).

3. What happens on the Tuesday, March 18 Interview Night?
The Cobb EMC Volunteer Task Force interviews the finalists. Three questions are asked of each finalist. All of the questions are impromptu.

4. What if I am unable to attend the Tuesday, March 18 Interview Night?
This is a mandatory meeting. Finalists will be disqualified if they do not attend.

5. How good are my chances of winning?
The first level of competition is between you and the other students in your school. One school finalist, the highest scoring student, from each school will be invited back for Interview Night. Typically eight students qualify for an interview.

6. What if I am the only student representing my school?
Congratulations! You will be your school's representative if you score higher than an 80 on the quiz.

7. What if I am unable to attend the Youth Tour trip to Washington, D.C. from June 12 to June 19?
You may forfeit the trip to the next student in line, and still receive your scholarship money. The first place winner will receive a $1000 scholarship and the second place winner will receive an $800 scholarship. Only students who attend the Youth Tour are eligible to interview for the Summer Internship.

8. When will I get my study materials for the quiz?
You will receive your study packet after we receive your application.

9. Are Home School students eligible to enter the contest?
Yes, Home Schooled students are invited to enter the competition. Only one student, the highest scoring, will be allowed to represent the Home School community.

10. Please explain the Intern selection process?
We will schedule job interviews with the top three students before they leave for the Youth Tour. Each student will complete an application and be interviewed by Mark Justice, Director of Education and Community Relations, and Angela Shipp, Publications/Communications Specialist. A physical and drug screen is required of the applicant who accepts the Internship.

11. What does the internship consist of?
The Intern will work in the Public Relations Department at Cobb EMC.

12. What is the Cobb EMC Women's Task Force?
A volunteer group comprised of 80 to 90 women members of the Cooperative. They raise the money that pays for the two trips to Washington, D.C. Since 1977, Cobb EMC's Volunteer Task Force has sent over 38 high school juniors on this week-long, all-expense-paid trip to our state and nation’s capitals.

13. What is the Youth Cooperative Conference in Covington?
The objectives of the conference are to provide education about the role of Cooperatives in our economy, heighten awareness of Cooperatives in Georgia, and provide an opportunity to learn and practice leadership skills.
