Cobb EMC Winter Weather Updates
Saturday, January 24, 2026
-
8:30 p.m.: Winter Storm Fern is expected to make its way through our service area tonight and cause freezing rain, strong gusts of wind, extremely cold temperatures, and icy conditions.
As we continue to monitor weather conditions, our crews are staged and ready to respond and restore power as quickly and safely as possible as soon as conditions allow. We worked with statewide agencies and secured additional contract crews from across the Southeast to help with our restoration efforts.
While we can’t predict exactly how severe outages may be, we encourage our members to prepare for any potential lengthy outages that may occur. If you rely on electricity-based medical equipment or refrigerated medications, please make alternate arrangements and call 911 in case of an emergency.
Continue to stay informed about current weather conditions through your local news providers and use the tips below to stay safe. You can also sign up for our text alerts to receive notifications about outages in your area through our online form or by texting “REGISTER” to 898-362 (TXTEMC).
