Our community is at the heart of what we do and we are proud to highlight some of our favorite community projects of the year below:

Bringing Power to Communities in Need: In 2025, we provided mutual aid assistance to five co-ops in need after devastating weather events in our region and across the nation.

Diapers for Children in Need: Our team and members of the community helped to collect more than 168,000 diapers and wipes for Cobb Diaper Day. The diapers are donated to local organizations that serve families and children in need.

Keeping Kids Warm, One Coat at a Time: Cobb EMC employees and members of the community collected and distributed brand new coats to local

Fostering a Passion for Reading in Students: Cobb EMC and Gas South hosted the Literacy Week program in schools throughout Cobb, Paulding, Cherokee, Bartow and Fulton counties. This year, the program impacted more than 21,000 students in 45 schools.

Christmas Gifts for Children: Cobb EMC employees collected gift cards for teenagers and wishlist gifts for Title 1 and Foster Care school-aged children.

Shop with a Lineman: Cobb EMC linemen celebrated the holidays by supporting 15 foster families with Christmas presents.

Mini-Grants for Teachers: This year, Cobb EMC awarded $38,000 in mini-grants to 81 teachers, providing them with resources to enhance their classroom experiences.

Sponsoring STEM education: Cobb EMC and Gas South sponsored the Cobb County and Cherokee County Science Olympiads, including the Regional Science & Engineering Fair.

Breast Cancer Awareness: Our annual Pink Power Flock initiative reached thousands to encourage screening and raise funds for local programs.

Lunch for MUST Ministries: Cobb EMC employees volunteer their time to support MUST's Summer Lunch program. Their efforts provided 1,000 packed breakfast and lunch kits for students.

LiveSafe Resources: Cobb EMC supplied LiveSafe with holiday wish list items.

Scholarships: The Cobb EMC Foundation awarded more than $75,000 in scholarships to help local students pay for college.
We also invite you and your family to experience the joy of the holiday season and the spirit of giving by visiting the homes participating in our holiday lights contest. We've teamed up with 10 Cobb EMC members who are competing for your vote for the best light display. The winning home will receive a $500 donation from Cobb EMC to the nonprofit of their choosing. Visit the homes and vote via Facebook by December 26.
