Cobb EMC Shines at the 2025 Georgia Lineman’s Rodeo

Congratulations to our 2025 rodeo team for taking home seven top-five overall placements – two apprentice and one journeyman team – at the Georgia Lineman’s Rodeo!

Utilities compete in one of three divisions: electric membership cooperatives (EMCs), municipal power companies, and overall. During events, linemen compete either as journeymen teams comprised of three linemen and a coach or individually as apprentices.

Cobb EMC was proudly represented by 11 apprentices, nine journeyman, four bucket truck operators, and four coaches. Cobb EMC crews received the following awards:

Apprentice Awards:

  • 1st Place Overall: Trapper Ramsey

  • 4th Place Overall: Ben Orton

  • 1st Place in Known Event 1: Trapper Ramsey

  • 1st Place in Hurtman Rescue: Barrett Pence

  • 1st Place in Mystery Event 1: Trapper Ramsey

  • 1st Place in Mystery Event 2: Trapper Ramsey

Journeyman Awards:

  • 2nd Place in Mystery Event 2: Austin Cunningham, Clayton Patterson, and Jeremy McBrayer

These achievements highlight our linemen and their coaches’ dedication, skill, and hard work. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments and the exemplary way they represented Cobb EMC.
